GVF IMS Support
Help with GVF IMS for iPhone and Android, the incident-response app for authorised Greyton Volunteer Firefighters members.
Contact app support
For sign-in problems, app faults, feedback or feature requests, email info@greytonfire.org with the subject GVF IMS support.
Include your phone model, iPhone or Android software version, GVF IMS app version, what you were trying to do and any error message. If you include a screenshot, remove other people’s personal information. Never send your password or one-time sign-in codes.
This email is for app support, not emergency reporting. For an incident requiring an immediate response, use the established emergency and dispatch channels.
Account access
GVF IMS requires an account issued or invited by GVF. If you need access, have forgotten your password or cannot complete enrolment, contact your GVF administrator or email info@greytonfire.org. Include the email address or username associated with your account.
Callout notifications
Sign in to the app, allow notifications in your phone’s settings and check that the app reports your phone as registered for callout alerts. Your phone needs an internet connection. If alerts are silent, check your phone’s notification, sound and Focus or Do Not Disturb settings.
If an expected alert does not arrive, open GVF IMS and refresh to check for current requests. Contact app support if the problem continues.
Attendance and location sharing
Accepting a callout or recording arrival requires agreement to location sharing and the required phone permissions. After confirmation, sharing starts automatically. Authorised GVF dispatchers and responders can see your latest reported position, accuracy and update time.
Sharing can continue while the screen is locked. Check the location-sharing status and last-delivered time in the app. If updates stop, check your internet connection and location permissions, return to the app and follow any instructions shown. Contact dispatch if your position is not updating during an incident.
Use Check out when you leave the incident. Checking out ends sharing. You can also stop sharing from the app, but stopping sharing alone does not record your departure. A sharing session lasts up to 12 hours.
Equipment and attendance records
The Equipment tab shows equipment issued to you, and the Attendance tab shows your recent attendance records. Return equipment to dispatch so its return can be recorded. Contact your GVF administrator if an equipment or attendance record needs correcting.
Privacy and account requests
Read the GVF IMS Privacy Policy for information about personal data and retention.
To request account deletion or a correction to your personal information, email info@greytonfire.org with the subject GVF IMS privacy request. Include your account username or email address and explain your request. GVF may need to verify your identity. Some operational records may need to be retained as described in the privacy policy.
